Our Founding Team
Sebastian Baumann M.Sc.
Co-Founder and CEO
Sebastian Baumann is Co-Founder and CEO of DATAbility GmbH. Due to his many years of work as a project manager, he has extensive experience in the field of data-based modelling for analysing and estimating aircraft fuel consumption, for example. He is specialized in the development of tools for decision support using algorithms from the field of machine learning.
In his position as a scientific assistant at the Institute of Flight Systems and Control Engineering at the Technische Universität Darmstadt, he led projects within the framework of the German aeronautical research programme and was involved as an expert and co-author in the study “Fundamental Analysis for an Air Transport Concept by the German Government“. As a PhD student, he deals with the analysis of flight and operational data using machine learning algorithms. In particular, he focuses on the development of data-based, economic evaluations for technical modifications and degradations of aircraft and flight operations.
“My vision is to create sustainable and cross-industry added value for practice with the use of artificial intelligence; I want to take the lead myself and help shaping the future in this field on my own responsibility”.
Dr.-Ing. Christian Preusche
Co-Founder and CTO
Dr.-Ing. Christian Preusche is Co-Founder and CEO of DATAbility GmbH. He is specialized in the development of algorithms in the field of machine learning for application to technical problems.
As a project manager he has extensive experience in the areas of predictive maintenance and quality assessment. During his work at the Institute of Flight Systems and Automatic Control at the Technische Universität Darmstadt, he was especially engaged in model- and data-based algorithms for fault diagnosis and prognosis for different technical systems, such as electric motors.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Klingauf
Co-Founder and Strategy Consultant
Professor Dr.-Ing. Uwe Klingauf is Co-Founder and Strategy Consultant of DATAbility GmbH. Before his employment as professor at the Technische Universität Darmstadt he worked in leading positions for Airbus Defense & Space as well as MBDA. In particular, he was involved in the development of mission- and safety-critical systems for aircraft in the areas of avionics, flight control systems and X-by-wire technologies.
Since 2004, he has headed the Institute of Flight Systems and Automatic Control at the Technische Universität Darmstadt.
