Condition Monitoring
Machine Wear Is Difficult to Detect Before It Affects Performance and Leads to Unplanned Downtime
Reliable condition monitoring starts with selecting the data and measurement technology that best fit the specific machine, operating conditions and monitoring objective.
AIDnow is not limited to one sensor principle. It can combine and analyze data from existing or retrofitted sensors, machine controls and operational systems. Depending on the application, this may include vibration, temperature, electrical, acoustic, process or impedance data.
By connecting sensor information with operating context and engineering knowledge, AIDnow transforms individual measurements into transparent condition assessments, anomaly notifications and decision support for maintenance teams.
Sensor-Agnostic Condition Monitoring
One example of this flexible approach combines AIDnow with impedance sensor technology from HCP Sense. In this application, the measurement data was used to analyze bearing conditions and support the diagnosis of developing bearing damage.
Impedance measurement is particularly valuable for slowly rotating motors, shafts and bearings, where conventional vibration signals may be weak or difficult to distinguish from environmental noise. The technology can provide information about bearing load, lubrication and surface condition, while AIDnow analyzes the resulting data and translates it into meaningful condition insights.
This application demonstrates one possible sensor setup within the broader Condition Monitoring approach. Other sensor technologies and machine data can be integrated depending on the asset and monitoring objective.
